A Drone Photo & Cinematography Workshop

It's here! A fully immersive and in-depth drone flying, photography and cinematography workshop AND a multi-day photo tour around the iconic (and still erupting) Mayon Volcano! Fly over the fertile farmlands, green hills and rice terraces of Albay with the statuesque grace of Mayon in the background. Learn the basics of aerial imaging while admiring the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes!
We will have lectures and demos to discuss the following topics related to aerial imaging:
Basic drone safety
Flying in regulated air space
Settings for photography and photo techniques
Effective aerial compositions and use of light
Manual and automated panorama captures
Post-Processing/editing DJI RAW files
Settings for videography + DLOG mode
Basic flying maneuvers for effective storytelling
Color grading DLOG footage with LUTs
Editing in Premiere with sound design + music
After the lectures, we will immediately apply these lessons by capturing photos and footage from various iconic spots in Albay including Cagsawa Ruins, Legazpi Boulevard, Quituinday Hills and few other secret locations! Nights will be spent photographing Mayon’s lava flow and pyroclastic explosions with our regular cameras and telephoto lenses. This promises to be a hard-core photographic adventure for the most eager of photo enthusiasts!
The workshop + photo tour will be on August 26-28, 2023. Registration fee is P14,000 and includes van transportation around Albay, hotel accommodations and meals in top rated Bicolano restaurants. Additionally, an extra day of shooting can be arranged for participants on a cost-sharing system should you decide to spend more time around Mayon. Please note that transportation to and from Legazpi City is NOT included in the registration fee.
The workshop + photo tour will be led and facilitated by Jay Jallorina, a CAAP certified RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) pilot with over 8 years experience imaging with drones professionally for clients all over the Philippines. Jay also has a real intimate knowledge of the landscapes of Albay, having led photo tours annually to Mayon since 2012 and personally exploring for new spots ever since. There is no other workshop currently on offer right now that has this much content and with this unique opportunity to capture one of the Philippines’ most iconic landscapes.
Basic requirements include: Any DJI drone (Mavic, Air, Mini, Phantom, etc.), camera gear (DSLR/mirrorless, wide lens, telephoto), tripod for night shooting lava flow, and laptop (with Adobe editing apps) for the post-processing sessions.
